Come to one of our 29 local offices to apply for financial aid. Our staff will ask you to fill out an application and provide us with documents that support your family income, your work status, and other items. Although the specific items needed can vary depending on what you need and the source of funding used to pay for it, some of the common documents and information we often ask for include:
- Social Security number and card
- Photo identification, such as driver’s license, passport, or other government issued document
- Birth Certificate or Alien Registration Card indicating right to work or citizenship
- Pay stubs, tax returns, or other documentation showing how much money you make or made
- Lay off notices or letters if you’ve recently been laid off or lost a job because your employer went out of business.
