What's Inside

In the Spotlight

Texas Internship Challenge

The Texas Workforce Commission, Texas Education Agency, and The Higher Education Coordinating Board have teamed up and challenged employers to offer for-credit applied learning opportunities or paid internships to young adults. The Texas Internship Challenge  introduces young adults to in-demand occupations and allows them to gain the marketable skills employers want.

Child Labor Law
Fact Sheet

Did you know that Child Labor Laws cover any employee under 18 years of age?  The Texas Child Labor Law ensures that a child is not employed in an occupation or manner that is harmful to the child's safety, health, or well-being.  Check out the US Department of Labor's Fact Sheet on youth employment provisions of the Fair Labor Standards Act for Nonagricultural Occupations!
