How do you become an HVAC Mechanic and Installer?

HVAC mechanics and installers work both indoors and outdoors. They can be found at construction sites, in homes, and in businesses or factories. Te work may be strenuous at times and some people may have to travel to job sites. HVAC mechanics and installers are required to obtain a certification from the Environmental Protection Agency, and register with the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation. In the Gulf Coast region, there are two options for HVAC mechanic and installer training: (1) Training programs at community colleges; and (2) Training programs at vocational-technical institutes.
